Staff Procurement (Recruitment) Strategy

Short Courses Australia offer hospitality employers that are reporting a shortage of hospitality staff, across Sydney & Regional NSW, access to their JOB CAMP participants who are seeking work experience and then employment.

Staff Procurement (Recruitment) Strategy

Short Courses Australia RTO 41261 delivers JOB CAMP across Sydney & Regional NSW.

JOB CAMP sources local JOBSEEKERS seeking hospitality work experience and then employment.

JOBSEEKERS are trained in and certified with compliance certificates in RSA, RCG, ARCG, FSH, FSS and receive soft skills training in espresso coffee and waiter service cycle training.

Short Courses Australia partners with local host employers, that can provide access to training facilities and who are reporting a shortage of hospitality staff.

Host Employers

JOB CAMP is facilitated at a host employers' venue and offers JOBSEEKERS access to:
  • Vocational skills training and compliance certificates that are pre-requisites for employment;
  • Supervised work experience with the host employer;
  • Employment outcomes with the host employer.

Short Courses Australia support JOBSEEKERS to break down barriers to employment and to help them maintain paid employment.

Supporting Local Business

JOB CAMP is designed to support local business.

Without exception, all hospitality businesses across NSW are reporting a shortage of hospitality staff.

JOB CAMP provides a foundational skill base for JOBSEEKERS and gives them the confidence to apply for roles with the host employer.

JOB CAMP connects JOBSEEKERS with local hospitality host businesses and reduces for those businesses the prohibitive costs of advertising, recruitment, selection, and training of new staff.

To that end, JOB CAMP sets for itself the following objectives:

  • 100% of JOBSEEKERS to receive supervised work experience with the host employer;
  • 35% of JOBSEEKERS to get a casual job with the host employer;
  • 20% of JOBSEEKERS that complete the program to go on to secure long-term roles with the host employer;
  • All JOBSEEKERS to grow their local network by meeting at least two industry representatives.

Targeted Priorities Prevocational and Part Qualification (TPPPQ) Grants Program

JOBSEEKERS in regional areas and from low-SES backgrounds can struggle to both find trainers close by that can deliver this training and pay for it.

TPPPQ funding is available for JOB CAMP on a case by case basis for JOBSEEKERS, if the application can demonstrate that JOB CAMP removes the barriers that might prevent JOBSEEKERS from access to work experience and creates opportunities for hospitality jobs.

Short Courses Australia is a Smart & Skilled Provider approved training provider for the TPPPQ Grants Program, (Legal Org 509982).
