Food Safety Auditor Course in Sydney
Participants of the Food Safety Auditor course complete the following unit of competence:
- FBPAUD4001 Assess compliance with food safety programs
- FBPAUD4002 Communicate & negotiate to conduct food safety audits
- FBPAUD4003 Conduct food safety audits
- FBPAUD4004 Identify, evaluate & control food safety hazards
Completion of all four food safety auditing units is a pre-requisite for persons seeking to make an application for registration as a Regulatory Food Safety Auditor.
The application process will also require the applicant to demonstrate competency in one or more of the following high risk food safety auditing units of competency:
- FBPAUD5001 Audit a bivalve mollusc growing and harvesting process
- FBPAUD5002 Audit a cook chill process
- FBPAUD5003 Audit a heat treatment process
- FBPAUD5004 Audit manufacturing of ready-to-eat meat products
Food Safety Auditor | Course Duration
The duration of the course is 5 Days (approximately 40 contact hours).
Participants will also be required to complete homework assignments, written assessments and submit portfolio assignments.
Portfolio assignments include completing two audits of at least two different food preparation sites (arranged by learner).
Food Safety Auditor | Course Overview
This course will enable you to identify and manage your food safety risks and enables you to fulfill a role as a Food Safety Auditor to conduct audits of your own or other client’s facilities. This course will also enable you to meet regulatory obligations and requirements to audit food safety programs.
This workshop applies to regulatory, commercial, internal and food safety systems auditors who may be auditing low, medium or high risk food businesses.

Food Safety Auditor | Mandatory Prerequisites
- To be eligible to enrol into our Working at Heights Course, you must:
- Be a minimum 18 years of age
- Have a valid USI (you can create one for free or look yours up at www.usi.gov.au)
- Experience working with food services industry preferred, but not essential.
- It's important that you're able to speak English clearly and be able to understand and complete worksite documentation relevant to Food Safety Auditor.
