Short Courses Australia is accredited to deliver the New Entrant Training (NET) course on behalf of Liquor Control Victoria formally Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation (VCGLR) across Victoria. Cost: $150.00
NEW ENTRANT LIQUOR LICENCE TRAINING
New Entrant Training is a training standard developed by the Liquor Control Victoria (Formally VCGLR) to ensure that applicants have an adequate knowledge of the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998.
Short Courses Australia is accredited by the Director of Liquor Control Victoria (Formally VCGLR), to deliver New Entrant Training throughout Victoria.
From 1 July, Liquor Control Victoria is the state's regulator for liquor licensing matters, while the VGCCC will focus only on the casino and gambling regulation. To make the transition easier, you can still find all key information and online forms here Check here;
Courses are delivered face to face in a classroom or you can participate in one of our sessions from your home, school or workplace via live teleconferencing, using ZOOM.
The New Entrant Training program includes:
- the legislative environment for liquor licensees
- understanding liquor licences
- best practice in managing licensed premises.
An application for a liquor licence will not be granted until New Entrant Training and a Liquor Control Victoria (Formally VCGLR) accredited Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) are completed and submitted with your application for all liquor licence categories except for a BYO permit and pre-retail licence.
Applicants who need to complete New Entrant Training and RSA with Short Courses Australia are:
- Individuals – all natural person applicants
- Partnerships – all partners
- Company (body corporate) – at least one director
- Club – at least one committee member
- Association – at least one committee member, and all applicants:
- for appointment as a nominee
- Seeking approval to sublet any part of the licensed premises, or to carry on the business of supplying liquor on the licensed premises.
If applicants have already undertaken an approved new entrant training course, a copy of the training certificate should be included with the licence application.
NEW ENTRANT LIQUOR LICENSE TRAINING OPTIONS
Participants can select one of two training options:

- Select Book Now to attend a virtual session from your home via live teleconferencing, with ZOOM (to download zoom to your device click here).

NEW ENTRANT LIQUOR LICENSE TRAINING (Classroom & via ZOOM)
The cost of the New Entrant Liquor License course delivered at our training centre is $150.00 per person, including a Liquor Control Victoria (Formally VCGLR) Approved Certificate of completion.
In addition to your New Entrant Liquor License Training certificate, you will also require a current Liquor Control Victoria (formally VCGLR) approved Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate. Click Here to book a VCGLR RSA course.
