NEW ENTRANT LIQUOR LICENCE TRAINING

New Entrant Training  is a training standard developed by the VGCCC (Formally VCGLR) to ensure that applicants have an adequate knowledge of the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998.

Short Courses Australia is accredited by the Director of VGCCC Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation (Formally VCGLR), to deliver New Entrant Training throughout Victoria.

From 1 July, Liquor Control Victoria is the state's regulator for liquor licensing matters, while the VGCCC will focus only on the casino and gambling regulation. To make the transition easier, you can still find all key information and online forms here https://www.vgccc.vic.gov.au/

Courses are delivered face to face in a classroom or you can participate in one of our sessions from your home, school or workplace via live teleconferencing, using ZOOM.

The New Entrant Training program includes:

  • the legislative environment for liquor licensees
  • understanding liquor licences
  • best practice in managing licensed premises.

An application for a liquor licence will not be granted until New Entrant Training and a  VGCCC (Formally VCGLR) accredited Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) are completed and submitted with your application for all liquor licence categories except for a BYO permit and pre-retail licence.

Applicants who need to complete New Entrant Training and RSA with Short Courses Australia are:

  • Individuals – all natural person applicants
  • Partnerships – all partners
  • Company (body corporate) – at least one director

  • New Entrant Liquor License Training Short Course | review from Jane Ong

    29 November 2022

"The Barista Coffee Course of SCA is a great introductory course for all. It has an excellent mix of fun, fact, and flavor. Rachel handled our class professionally, her lectures backed by years of experience running a restaurant/cafe. She not only explained the ?what? and ?how? but the ?why? as well. We were encouraged to have hands-on barista experience with different coffee menus and milk combinations throughout the day, which included preparing the machine at the start of the day and cleaning it at closing time. We also had unlimited coffee-tasting sessions. The place was clean, and the class atmosphere was robust and relaxed. I improved a lot after the class and learned to appreciate the art of coffee making even more. It was such a great experience that I plan to enroll in SCA?s other courses to complement this newfound skill."
