FIRST AID COURSE RINGWOOD

The First Aid Course in Melbourne is class room based face to face training in the unit of competence HLTAID011 Provide first aid.

The course is facilaited at Short Courses Australia training centres at 350 Collins Street, Melbourne 3000 and 8 Anderson Street, Port Melbourne 3206.

Suitable for beginners and individuals who haven’t had a certificate in many years, HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is the standard workplace first aid course and is sometimes referred to as Level 2.

This course teaches individuals the fundamental principles, knowledge and skills to enable them to provide emergency care for injuries and illnesses, in the home or the workplace.

The course includes HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

This course has pre course reading and on the day assessment.

FIRST AID COURSE RINGWOOD | COURSE CONTENT

Participants will be provided with theory and practical training and assessment covering, but not limited to the following topics: 

• How to properly assess an emergency situation
• DRSABCD
• CPR techniques on adults and infants
• Using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
• First aid procedures for bleeding, burns and fractures
• Managing medical conditions such as anaphylaxis, asthma and seizures
• Managing medical emergencies such as snake/spider bites, poisons and choking
• Infection control procedures
• Managing exposure to extreme temperatures
• Administering  first aid for eye & soft tissue injuries
• Assessing and moving sick & injured
• Legal responsibilities of a first aider
• Basic anatomy and physiology
• Managing shock
• And much more.
