Prepare to work safely in construction

Short Courses Australia is accredited with WorkSafe in Victoria to deliver Construction induction training (White Card) in Melbourne, Victoria.

The White Card Course is designed for all workers carrying out construction work including:

  • Self-employed persons;
  • Labourers;
  • Apprentices;
  • Trainees;
  • Trades-persons;
  • Supervisors and project managers.

Traffic Controller Course

The traffic controller course (RIIWHS205E) is compleed in one-day. The day is made up of classroom and practical training simulating traffic activity. The course assists participants acquire skills to be able to read and understand traffic management plans as well as control traffic. You will also learn how to set up and use traffic control equipment.

The Traffic Control course provides training that is relevant to many industries, including:

Elevated Work Platform (EWP) Course Melbourne

RIIHAN301E Operate Elevating Work Platform (EWP)course is designed to give participants the knowledge and skills to operate elevating work platforms which are not classified as requiring a high risk work (HRW) licence.

If you need to operate lifts that have a capacity beyond 11m, you will need to complete TLILIC0005 - Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more).

After successfully completing this nationally-recognised course you will be trained and competent to operate:

  • EWP under 11m
  • Scissor Lift
  • Vertical Lift*

 

Provide First Aid

In this 7-hour course participants receive HLTAID011 Provide first aid. This unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings

Participants are trained in the following areas:

  • Respond to an emergency situation
  • Apply appropriate first aid procedures
  • Communicate details of the incident
  • Evaluate the incident and own performance.
